A baby shower party is one of the best traditions for welcoming a baby into the world. The baby shower party presents a way to give gifts to the new baby and give pregnant women a day to honor their pregnancy and how precious this new little life will be. If you have the honor to plan a baby shower party for someone, you will need to plan ahead in order to show the mother and the baby the honor they deserve.

Making Plans

When planning a baby shower party, you will first need to think of a theme or the way to want to decorate the area where the baby shower party will take place. If you already know the sex of the baby, this can really help you in planning a theme that is appropriate.

Next, you will want to take into consideration the due date of the expectant mother. You do not want have the baby shower party too early or too late in the pregnancy. If you have it too early, complications in the pregnancy could arise and something may happen. If you have the party too late in the pregnancy, then you could run the risk of the mother actually going into labor at her own shower. Try to plan the show at least one month before the due date to avoid any of these issues.

As far as presents go, this is one time where you want everything planned. You will need to be aware of what the couple already has for the baby and what family members are already interested in buying. That way, you can get people to buy the things that the couple have expressed a need for and still be able to provide something for everyone to buy that is not outrageous in price.

Food is an important part of any party, but especially a baby shower party. Just remember that when you are planning a baby shower, you should always avoid serving alcoholic drinks. You will also want to plan a healthy meal in order to promote the health of the mother and the baby.

The last thing is the games. No baby shower party is complete without games. You can find many resources online that will give you ideas for baby shower games. You can also get advice from those who have thrown a shower before. Just make sure that it is special for the new mom and that everyone is having fun.

When planning a shower for a baby boy, a lot needs to go into the preparations. In order to make the day very special for the mommy to be, some commitment from friends and a collaborative effort is necessary.

Simply ask the new mother to register at her favorite store, and ask her to sit back and relax. Then all that’s left is planning the perfect baby shower for her little boy!

Step 1

Although there is not much to this step, it is important to make sure a date and time for the baby shower is set.

Step 2

The first thing you will want to do is make a list of who will be invited to the baby boy shower. The most effective way to do this is to ask the new mother for a list of friends she’d like to see attend.

In addition, make sure you have the names and numbers of all family members that need to be invited.

Step 3

The next step in planning the baby boy’s shower is to choose a theme and colors. Colors such as yellow, blue, green and orange are great choices. In order to make sure the party is not too busy, choose no more than 2 colors to use.

As for the theme of the baby shower, prints of baby boys on banners and table cloths are a popular choice. Sticking with solid colors is a good choice as well, and some sort of congratulations messages should be displayed somewhere throughout the party.

Step 4

Come up with some party favors. Choose something that means a lot to the mom to be and re-create it somehow. Craft stores are great places to visit in order to find unique items such as paper, small baby trinkets and candy among plenty of other things!

A great idea for making party favors for a boy’s baby shower is to get a big sheet of see-through material from a fabric store. Cut the sheet into small 4” by 4” squares and then put a small handful of baby blue mint candies in the middle of each square. Using a very thin white ribbon, pull the edges of the square together and secure it so that it makes a sack. Purchase tiny storks and hang the candy from the stork!

Step 5

Make sure to account for any children who will be attending the baby boy’s shower, and try to hire a babysitter or get the teenagers at the party to babysit the younger children.

This doesn’t necessarily have to be away from the party, but the kids could play outside for example while the new mom opens gifts. This is a great way to make sure everyone at the party has fun.

You will also want to plan party games, both for adults and for the children. Pin the tail on the donkey is an old classic, and for the adults a good old game of truth or dare can be a blast. Trivia games are also popular.

Step 6

The final step in planning a baby shower for a boy is to plan the food arrangements and the cake. You will want to make arrangements for supplying juice (for the kids and expectant mommies), soda and bottled water. It’s important to remember that the mom to be can’t drink alcohol, so it’s probably not a good idea to supply any alcohol at all.

As for food, keep it simple. Of course an important part of the party is to keep everyone fed, but it doesn’t have to be a formal affair.

Have the hubby of mom to be fire up the grill for some hamburgers, hot dogs, veggie burgers and grilled pineapple. Serve some salad, corn on the cob and chips with salsa for lunch. After lunch comes the cake, don’t forget to choose something that suits a baby boy’s shower. For the total party theme package, make sure the cake colors match those of the rest of the theme.

A Precious Moments baby shower is one of the nicest themes a new mom can choose for her celebration. This theme is perfect for either a girl or a boy and the designs are appropriate when the parents are keeping the baby’s gender a surprise. There are many choices in the Precious Moments baby shower theme and you are sure to find one that is perfect for your welcoming your little one.

The colors used in this new classic theme are lovely. The soft yellow and purple shades work very well together in creating an adorable presentation that is suitable for both girls and boys. The charming characters are always a pleasure to see but the ones chosen for the Precious Moments baby shower supplies are cuter than ever.

When my sister announced that she was expecting her first baby we all knew that choosing a Precious Moments baby shower theme would be ideal for her. She already owns a nice collection of these characters in her home and she started daydreaming of starting a collection for her little one as well. We started shopping for baby shower supplies as soon as we got the news.

My sister was one step ahead of us. She had already chosen the cutest Precious Moments baby shower invitations and thank you notes. The matching plates, napkins and cups were next on the list of necessities for the party. Those of us who were organizing the event for her had the advantage of knowing exactly what to purchase.

I even found a great cake designer who created a lovely Precious Moments baby shower cake just for the occasion. The cake was so beautiful that we hated the very idea of eating it. However, we got over the guild almost immediately. The cake wasn’t the only attraction during the Precious Moments baby shower for my sister.

The baby shower favors were presented in boxes that were designed in the same theme. Every detail was addressed from the sign to the tablecloth. The guests were surrounded by the Precious Moments baby shower decorations and the afternoon was just perfect.

We didn’t know whether she was having a boy or a girl but we had a lot of fun guessing. It is rare that decorations can be found that are appropriate for both genders. The Precious Moments baby shower theme can be used for any precious little one.

Choosing a theme for a baby shower can be tough. There are so many adorable ideas that it really can be difficult to choose just one. Once you choose a theme you pretty much think that you have the whole thing under control but you might be surprised. I discovered that choosing the theme in general isn’t the only decision that needs to be made when I was shopping for Winnie the Pooh baby shower invitations.

The Pooh Bear theme was one that didn’t come easy in the first place but after some consideration I really felt that it was a good choice. Once I chose the theme I started shopping for Winnie the Pooh baby shower invitations as soon as possible. It was during my time looking at the many options that I became a little confused.

The problem was that I had too many Winnie the Pooh baby shower invitations to sift through. I never thought about the different themes within the theme that I would have to consider. There are classic Pooh designs that appeal to a traditional theme. The Pooh designs from my childhood really stood out but the baby Pooh designs seemed perfect for the occasion.

I was pretty sure that I wouldn’t use the baby Pooh designs. These characters are really cute and they do fit the overall event but these Winnie the Pooh baby shower invitation weren’t my style. They are adorable but I really wanted something that was a little more personal. This left me with two other options to consider.

The classic Pooh designs are really attractive. This design offers muted colors and a softer feel. I really loved this look and these Winnie the Pooh baby shower invitations were very appealing to me. I could imagine the entire party decorated around this theme and that made the decision very tough.

The difficulty was that I really loved Pooh Bear when I was a child and I know that my parents associate me with this theme. The Winnie the Pooh baby shower invitations resembled the toys that I had growing up and the colors were bright and cheerful.

When push came to shove, I had to opt for the Winnie the Pooh baby shower invitations that resembled the Pooh I loved as a child. The choice wasn’t very easy because I really loved classic design but I think that I made the right choice.

There seems to come a time in every family when there is a boom of births. This also seems to happen with weddings, as it seems that once you get one wedding invitation in the mail there are at least six different ones to follow within the next year. I’m not sure why this is, but it seems to be something that happens in every family. When someone is getting married, you may want to throw them a wedding shower, or if a baby is on the way, you may want to go about planning a baby shower.

There may be nothing sweeter than planning a baby shower. Though there is always some uncertainty that comes with pregnancy, by the time you are planning a baby shower, you can be pretty certain that the pregnancy is going to be a successful one. A shower is often a promise of a new life, and a great way to celebrate not only the baby, but the mom to be. Many moms look forward to this special day, as it is one of the first celebrations of their new child that they will have.

Planning a baby shower does not have to be that difficult. If you are indeed planning a shower for someone, you probably know them pretty well. You will know what they like and what they don’t like, and how much they might expect. If you are planning a baby shower for somebody who is finicky and fickle, you may want to consider handing the party over to someone else. This will be up to you of course, but there’s no sense in giving yourself a heartache over something someone will not appreciate. Planning a baby shower should be fun and light, and should be something that you want to do with your whole heart.

When planning a baby shower there are a few things that you should do. Games are always a hit, even if everybody whines when they are announced. No one likes to admit that they love to play these games, but everyone will have fun when they do. Also make sure that you have light snacks and something healthy to drink when planning a baby shower. Make sure you give your guests plenty of notice, and make accommodations for out of town guests. If someone could not attend, you should offer them your address so that they may ship a package out ahead of time if they choose to do so. This will add an extra special touch to any baby shower.

You have had a great experience with your baby shower. Those who attended the celebration had a great time and your hostess did a fantastic job planning and organizing the event. The only thing she forgot was that her original invitations that she made from scratch had no matching baby shower thank you cards.

This little predicament doesn’t seem like a big deal to many but some of us really like the idea of matching everything. It may seem as if the woman who wants her baby shower thank you cards to match the invitations is just being fussy. However, there are a few reasons that she may feel this way.

First of all, we want to make the special event as special as the new arrival. We want a specific theme and we really want to leave a lasting impression that is consistent. If the baby shower thank you cards match the invitations and are consistent with the theme of the party the receiver will recognize it right away. It is a way of making a thank-you extra special.

The main reason that we want consistency is keepsakes. Many women are taking scrapbook crafts very seriously. Items like invitations as well as baby shower thank you cards are carefully chosen to fit together just so in the collection.

Your host did a great job making handmade invitations and you might want to consider asking her to help you with the baby shower thank you cards as well. This is a great gesture that will compliment her abilities and will show how important the invites really are to you. You also will have your matching items for your scrapbook.

If you are about to plan a baby shower you might want to consult with the mother-to-be about the type of stationary she wants for the occasion. You might find yourself ordering baby shower thank you cards in addition to the invites but this might be a good thing as well. You can save a good deal of money when you order matching sets.

The invitations set the mood and tone for the occasion and the baby shower thank you cards serve as wonderful reminders of the special afternoon get together. Why not make them extra special by including them with the theme of the day? There are plenty of options when it comes to invitations with matching baby shower thank you cards.

I loved my baby shower. I did not really expect to. After all, I was so exhausted with the strain and hassle of caring for a new baby that the idea of entertaining all of my friends for a few hours was not exactly appealing. Nevertheless, I had a blast. The baby shower went off without a hitch. The decorations were flawless, and the baby shower gift ideas that people came up with were just wonderful. That is why I wanted to get the perfect baby shower thank you cards. I wanted to show everyone how great a time I had, and how nice it was to get all of those thoughtful presents for baby and me!

When I started out, I wanted to write thank you cards for baby shower all by hand. I honestly planned to, and was even envisioning making each baby shower thank you card an individual work of art. All of my friends are pretty creative people, and I knew that they would appreciate them. After a couple hours, however, I was no closer to finishing the baby shower thank you cards. I had to actually throw out the ones that I had started. I knew that if I sent out some precious moments shower thank you cards and some handmade ones, the people who got the store-bought ones would be jealous. They would think that I didn’t care about them as much. I decided that all of my baby shower thank you cards had to come from the store.

Picking out baby shower thank you cards, however, was just as frustrating. I spent hours – literally hours – just staring at all of the rows and rows of cards. They had everything they from birth announcements to thank you stationary, but I couldn’t find anything that I liked. I realized at that point that I was a little bit overtired and overstressed. I decided to go home. I sent my husband out to pick out baby shower thank you cards for me. I figured that he could handle it. He was not the one who had just given birth. I was.

Despite the failure of my first plan, the baby shower thank you cards really did turn out pretty well. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised with the results. I thought that store bought baby shower thank you cards would look just horrible, but these ones were actually rather nice. I wrote a personalized message on each one, and so I think that my sincerity came through.

I had always thought that baby shower invitations were just a formality. Everyone is always excited to see a new born baby, after all, so who would get worried about baby shower invitation wording. As it turns out, I would. I hate to admit it, but I was stuck. I literally could not figure out a way to word the baby shower invitations. Nothing seemed right.

I think part of it was the fact that I was stressed out and exhausted. After coming up with baby shower party ideas, buying party supplies, arranging for a caterer, and taking care of a new born baby, I was exhausted. Normally, I pride myself on doing everything by hand. I have been known for my party invitation cards, my holiday cards, and my birthday greeting cards. You get the idea. I love playing host, and I am very good at it. But when it came to the baby shower invitations, for some reason nothing worked. Every idea for a baby shower invitation seemed more hackneyed and less creative than the last. Soon, my ideas did not even seem worthy of cards anymore. I was stumped and I was running out of time.

Finally, I downloaded some printable baby shower invitations off of the Internet. They were horrible, but they had to do. I actually chose the baby shower invitations at random. I knew that if I took the time to pick them out, I never would find the right ones. I just simply took the first ones that looked even remotely passable and printed them out. I figured that everyone would understand why my baby shower invitations did not live up to my usual standards. Most of them had already had babies, so they knew how much stress it could be.

As it turns out, no one even cared about the invitations baby shower. I knew I was being a little bit neurotic, but it was still hard for me not to worry. I just always feel the need to try to get every little thing right. The important thing was that everyone had a good time. Next time, I won’t let myself worry about something so trivial. I will buy baby shower invitations ahead of time and call it a done deal. That way, I can concentrate on the important things like being with my lovely baby girl. She is the most beautiful thing that I have ever seen.

One gathering that all expectant moms look forward to is their baby shower. It’s a chance for them to be the center of attention and if held after the birth of the baby, everyone invited will get a glimpse of him or her. For the person hosting the event a good deal of planning is involved. You want every small detail to be perfect and this includes the baby shower invitation wording.

There are certain things that you need to decide when it comes to having a baby shower. One is where the event will be held. If the guest list is relatively small someone’s home makes a personal and cozy setting. You’ll want to be certain that you have the exact address included in the baby shower invitation wording. One small error could result in all the guests going to the wrong home.

The time of day is also important. New moms always seem to be lacking in the area of sleep, so most showers are held midday. Again, you want to be certain that you note the time in the baby shower invitation wording so the guests know when to arrive. Although you are bound to get a few late arrivals, most of the ladies attending will respect the noted time and do their best to be punctual.

Gift registries seem to be all the rage recently. Many people set them up prior to their wedding day, for a notable birthday and also when expecting. If the mom-to-be has taken the time to do this you should include those details in the baby shower invitation wording. This will give the guests a chance to check out the registry and pick a gift that the new baby really needs. It can be very difficult trying to find the perfect gift so having this information available to the guests is much appreciated.

Potlucks work well when it comes to events like this. If you would like the other guests to bring along a dish or perhaps a dessert, mention this in the baby shower invitation wording. People love to contribute and would enjoy bringing along their favorite snack.

Always include a telephone number or email address that the people invited can R.S.V.P. to in the baby shower invitations. It’s nice to have a general idea of how many people are attending so you can arrange for rental of extra chairs and also for any space concerns.

Once all the details are in place you can send the invitations out and wait for the big day to arrive. Don’t forget to take lots of pictures so the new mom and her baby can remember this day forever.

I’m the first to admit that I absolutely do not look forward to attending baby showers, bridal showers or any sort of party that even remotely resembles those ideas. Everyone does the same things over and over again. I hate having to introduce myself and tell everyone how I know the bride-to-be or mother-to-be. I don’t enjoy playing the silly games and smelling baby food to guess what it is. To me, that’s just very strange. But, it is tradition and those are the majority of the baby shower ideas that circulate. I have done plenty of research in trying to come up with new baby shower ideas that fight the traditional silly ones, but haven’t had too much luck. As I said, most baby shower ideas that I’ve found are simply boring and tacky.

When my friends threw me a baby shower, they had a few unique baby shower ideas that I enjoyed. However, there were also games that I could have done without. It was a surprise shower, at my house - which I was less than thrilled about. I had known that it would be a girl, so everything was pink. My best friend had found some baby shower ideas that she liked and ran with them. She did the normal toilet paper around my belly, which I was embarrassed about, and the clothespins that each person got when they arrived. They’d lose their clothespins if they said the word “baby”. That actually ended up being a game that we had some fun playing. However, I threw a baby shower for my best friend a few months ago. I tried to desperately come up with some baby shower ideas that were unique and catered to her. She did not know what the baby’s sex was, so it wasn’t easy to pick a theme. However, one of the baby shower ideas that I implemented was a ‘time of day’ theme. Each invitation I sent out had a specific time of the day written on it. Whatever time of the day that was, the guest was to cater to that time. Whether it be the morning and playtime attire or evening bath attire, everyone had their own time period that they were responsible for. In my search for finding baby shower ideas, I had found a suggestion for a time capsule. I turned that into making a memory box for the baby. I enclosed an index card for all of the guests with instructions on bringing something that is relevant to the year that the baby is due. It could be a coin with the year, a newspaper article, current music - anything that would be representative of the birth year. It is one of the baby shower ideas that doesn’t cost anything - just requires creativity. Some of the other baby shower ideas that I came upon suggested having everyone bring a picture of the mom-to-be that they didn’t mind not getting returned. I took all of those photos and made a collage of them at the shower. The mom-to-be loved it. If you’re planning a shower, try to come up with some unique baby shower ideas. Don’t just stick to tradition.
