Is it possible to play musical instruments properly when learning solely from books?
Do you actualy need a teacher?
Nothing controversal here. YES you can learn from books if you set your mind to it. I started playing by ear, listened to lots of music..etc Eventually, I purchased some books and taught myself how to read and write music. I watched other advanced players on their hand position , picking technique and ended up with a BA in music.
When I went to Berklee, I was self-taught and passed the auditon with flying colors and nobody ever questioned where I learnt. Then, after my degree, I taught at berklee.
So, if you really love music, love your instrument and you put your heart and soul into it, you can learn through books. I used to practice 10 hours a day because I wanted to really master the instrument and get good and I accomplished my goals within a few years.
NOTE; I am not saying teachers are worthless. Contrary. I was just as advanced as my teacher as Berklee if not more after one year of polishing up. Or if you know some advance guitar players, ask them to help you out. They will. Trust me
